If you are looking for Mystic less commercial Mayan Ruins, Ek Balam will be your place.
We start visiting the charming city of Valladolid, with a nice walk in its market full of natural scents of fresh vegetables and fruits, where you will be able to listen and interact with the local Mayan People. Then we will walk around the historic center of Valladolid.
Now it’s time to move forward to Ek Balam, the classic pyramids from 700-1000 d.c. that means ” Bright Star Jaguar” . This pyramids are well known for its well-preserved stucco sculptures, large Acropolis with vaulted rooms, twin pyramids, and majestic Mayan arch, serving as the capital of ancient kingdom of Talol before its eventual decline and rediscovery, offering a unique glimpse into Mayan history with extensive defensive walls and rich iconography.
To close the day we will refresh ourselves in a nice cenote, fresh water from the underground rivers, have a nice typical regional buffet lunch and go back to the hotels.
